Are you feeling stressed, overwhelmed or anxious?
Are you struggling with pain or anxiety stemming from past events in your life?
Have you tried traditional talk therapy but still suffer from distressing symptoms?
Mindfulness and Somatic Experiencing®, might just provide the tools you need to overcome your challenges. These modalities have proven to be helpful in managing stress, anxiety, physical and emotional pain, post traumatic stress, chronic worry, depression and insomnia.
My first mindfulness meditation course twenty three years ago set me on a healing journey that I never imagined. Though I initially fretted about the cost, I later found that the benefits were priceless. Like me, I’ve heard others say that they’d never want to go back to how they felt before they started meditating.
Since my first class, I’ve taught the practice to hundreds in the Delaware Valley, allowing me to witness numerous participants undergo remarkable changes over eight-week periods. Mindfulness has improved the quality of life for many people around the world and throughout history. Are you ready to find out what it can it do for you?
As mindfulness has increased in popularity, you can find an abundance of books and articles about the practice. But without the structure of a class, the curriculum, the guidance of a trained, experienced professional and the classroom camaraderie, it’s hard to maintain a steady practice. Eight week course are generally offered three times a year – winter, spring and fall.
Despite your best efforts, you may need some support in finding balance and ease in your life. Reaching out for help isn’t a sign of failure. Instead, it is a courageous step onto a path towards healing and resilience.
Individual client sessions are tailored to your personal needs and interests. One-on-one work can be especially beneficial when grappling with anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) or depression.
For some, individual sessions offer the best opportunity to learn mindfulness meditation or yoga in a safe, supportive, private setting at a convenient time. The following can be healing measures or helpful adjuncts to talk therapy:
‣ Somatic Experiencing®
‣ breath regulation techniques
‣ gentle movement
‣ guided visualization
‣ cultivating resources to regulate the nervous system
‣ self-compassion and mindfulness meditation
Through these practices, you can learn to
‣ manage disturbing emotions
‣ stay in the present moment without obsessing over the past or worrying about the future
‣ unlock stress and trauma stored in the body
‣ become more self-accepting
‣ enhance your sense of wellbeing
‣ change attitudes that keep you stuck
‣ rewire your brain
Individual hour-long sessions include modern research-based techniques combined with techniques developed and honed by the ancients. As personal growth and change is greatly enhanced by techniques that can be applied between sessions, suggested at-home practices are provided after most sessions.
